Lichfield Christmas Lights 2013

What a fun couple of hours that was! 

A massive crowd which took some getting through, with lots of smiles, waves and "high fives".

Lots of photos taken which hopefully means people liked what i was doing!  Think I do need to sort the collar out though!

Christmas Bookings.......

A few Christmas "bookings" coming in, perhaps most notable is the Lichfield Christmas Lights switch on, so back to costume design / making then. (Update 12th November - have cheated and brought from ebay!)

Ebay is still a great source but even with things from here it often needs adapting or adding too in some form, still it keeps me quiet.

Team Aura

16th October sees a further Team Aura Workshop...... a busy night tonight and as the first one I had been to in while, several new faces.

Some great skills on show, from first time walkers trying steps to "new" pulse light suit being tried out. My Halloween costume went down well...... hope it does on the night.

Didn`t get on to fire tonight, as it was a late one and had to get off..... next time!

Lichfield 10k

As a member of Lichfield Running Club, it is expected that you help out at the Clubs "10k" event, so I offered to do some "walkabout." I think it went quite well, and as well as "walkabout" was roped into to medal presentation!   

More Action for Charity......

End of August, and the annual ride up to the Lakes and to help out Action for Charity on their Race the Sun event. Like many of the teams events, this help raise funds for Action Medical Research. 65 teams of four cycling 50 miles, "climbing" Hellevyn and a small paddle thrown in for good measure.

My duties were meet and great on Friday evening, along with general marshal duties.      

Fuse Festival Lichfield

The hottest weekend of the year saw us at Lichfield`s FUSE Festival, a free event in the city`s Beacon park.

Walkabout in the heat was hard work, but judging by the amount of pictures we had taken, we went down well!

With 3 stages and various other events, the festival draws several 1,000 people each year, and after a couple of years "damp" weather the organisers were thankful for a sunny weekend!

Racing the Sun for Action Medical Research

The last weekend in June saw us travel to Brecon to act as "Meet and Greet" for Action Medical Research / Action for Charity on their Race the Sun Brecon event. The event based at Brecon leisure center saw 65 teams of 4 cycling, walking and paddling their way around a grueling coarse.  

Friday night was Meet and Great, Saturday morning assisting at the start, the event was a great success with £10,000`s being raised for such a worthy cause.

St Giles Solstice Walk 2013

its June, so it must be the St. Giles Solstice Walk. We had great couple of hours last year cheering on the ladies, and weather permitting, intend to pop down this year to support such a great cause.

2012 Walk

New Costumes.....

So, a little inactivity, a few private parties but nothing "official", sees us working on the "wardrobe", adding to existing and working on new costumes, particularly the Grim Reaper in time for Halloween! The "army" themed outfit also needs some work as do our face painting skills!

Our friends at Exquisite Costumes have done us proud with some great items, but these need "adapting" and adding too and making a large scythe is proving fun! Of coarse Ebay is a great source of items, and a little trip to Camden Market is in the offing.

We will post some pictures as and when, in the meantime, back to the fibreglass!  



  

Bearded Theory 2013

We where please to be helping out at the wonderful festival that is Bearded Theory. Held near Derby at Kedleston Hall the Festival is one of the first of the "season" and a great family event.

During the Festival we were meeting and greeting as well as "walkabout".

 

Pulse / Bijoux Events

We were please to work as part of Team Aura at the Bijoux Events "Pulse" evening held at Revolution bar in the heart of Birmingham.

The event was a fund-raiser for the British Heart Foundation and some £700.00 was raised on the night.  

Team Aura provided Stilt Walkers, Fire Breathers and "Grinders"

Workshops.......

Once a month, or there abouts, we like to attend the Team Aura "Workshops". Held in Birmingham, these are a great place to practice and learn new skills with a great group of like minded people.

The encouragement within the group is great and gives a real boost, and is also a chance to pass on some advice and support to "newer" members!  

Its also a great networking event, where to buy equipment, find work etc.........

The evening generally ends with a quick fire performance on Broad Street!, honing our skills!

New Year... New Image...

Its a New Year, and so we have go for a new "logo" we hope you like it!

Things are a little quiet at the moment, but we hope to be out and about in the near future.
